Programme
CIDOC 2012 conference in Helsinki 10.-14.6.2012
During the CIDOC 2012 Conference, a large number of Working Group meetings, Workshops and Tutorials, and a full Conference programme will take place. Working Group meetings will take place on Saturday and Monday, Workshops and Tutuorials on Sunday. During Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday there will be plenary and parallel sessions of presentations as well as meetings of various CIDOC working groups. Below are listed the highlihts of each conference day. Detailed information can be accessed through the links.
New! During the conference, a small trade exhibition will take place at the main venue (National Museum). The exhibition provides an opportunity to explore commercial collection management systems and to meet representatives of their providers.
We will be updating this page regularly as the arrangement goes on and the different parts of program get confirmed. During the conference the last updates will be also posted on twitter, facebook and to the information screens on the conference venues. You can also make inquiries from the information desk at the National Museum. The registration and information desk is located in the ground floor of the National Museum of Finland, in the vicinity of the main Auditorium. The registration opens on Sunday (10.6.) and will be open every day during the conference.
Working Groups
CIDOC has a number of Working Groups, each of which is devoted to a specific topic. Generally, the annual CIDOC conference is the time for the Working Groups to come together, have discussions about their topics and relate to the other groups. The Working Groups are open to all CIDOC members, and we encourage your participation. The Working Groups will also hold workshops and tutorials during the first day of the conference.
CIDOC Helsinki wants to emphasize the importance of working groups and getting things done together. The conference is not only about listening; we want existing and new members to get involved! In working groups you will have a chance to meet like-minded colleagues, discuss, learn, argue and become part of the CIDOC family. Make sure you do not miss the thing which makes people travel to conferences year after year: inspiring meetings with fantastic people!
Sunday 10.6. Workshop day
During the conference, there will be full day workshops and half day workshops on topical subjects in the National Museum and other locations. More workshops may come available during the spring.
We encourage participation in the workshops. They are open to all interested conference participants. Find details on the workshops and contact information in the Workshop Presentation file below.
