Bursary Support for attending CIDOC2012


We are pleased to announce that funding is available to support attendance at the CIDOC 2012 conference in Helsinki, Finland 10-14 th June 2012. Part of the funding has been provided by outside sources and part by CIDOC itself. The two bursary programs have different eligibility constraints and applicants should provide all information requested to be considered under the appropriate scheme. Only one application is required to be considered for both bursary programs. Bursaries are provided as a lump sum payment, at the conference. Grants may be awarded to cover, either separately or together, registration fees, travel costs, and accommodation. Costs incurred in the home country, including but not limited to surface travel, accommodation, and visas, will not be covered by the grant.

Application criteria

  1. Application criteria
    The applicant must be either
    • a qualified documentation-related professional with a minimum of 3-5 years experience, currently employed in a museum or related institution or
    • a student currently studying a museum documentation related subject
  2. Country of provenance
    For externally funded bursaries, the applicant must come from a country in one of the following regions: Central and Eastern Europe, Latin America, Africa, Asia, Arab States, Pacific Islands There are no geographic constraints for the CIDOC bursaries. However, priority will be given to applicants from developing countries.
  3. Financial Needs
    The applicant must demonstrate a valid financial need, indicate all other possible sources of funding and give evidence of efforts to obtain funding.

AND THEN SEND SEPARATELY FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS:
In addition to the completed form, you are required to send the Bursary Committee of CIDOC2012 the following attachments:

  • A CV (including list of publications) - maximum of 5 pages
  • Reference (1 letter in support of the application)
  • Evidence of current professional / student status.
You can send the attachments either by regular mail, fax or by e-mail. In every case, please clearly indicate in the envelope, cover letter or subject field "CIDOC/Grant application"
